Sunderland and Romford provide the entertainment on Racing Post Greyhound TV this evening. Although Sunderland’s card is predominantly graded, they do have three open races early on, while Romford serve up a total of ten open race events. Both meetings can be seen live tonight on Racing Post Greyhound TV, Sky Channel 212, or Freesat Channel 402. The show begins at 7.15pm and is on right through until 10.45pm. This free to air channel now shows greyhound racing three nights a week, Thursday to Saturday!

The London Road Chase Standard is an open contest over the 400m trip. There are a number of potential winners in this field but I feel the 7/4 market leader Glory Stream is likely to be too hot for his rivals tonight. Ernie Gaskin’s runner was slightly disappointing last time out when finishing fourth behind Droopys Chase but prior to that, this June 09 dog had won two races over course and distance in succession and clocked some excellent times in doing so. He can bounce back to winning ways this evening. The main danger to my selection looks to be the Paul Young trained Blue Max. He finished just behind Glory Stream here last week but I think that trouble filled race is best forgotten and the two dog is likely to be on the premises here.

A greyhound that won for me last Friday here and one I’m sticking with to make it three victories in four starts. Pelaw Grange raider Elwick Ghost was in winning form over this course and distance last Friday night, beating Little Pippa by half a length. That particular rival was meant to be re opposing here but is now a non runner. This should make the task for the black jacket a more simple one now and the 11/10 available with Betfred looks well worth snapping up, especially when you consider the fact he’s as short as 4/5 elsewhere. The six dog Leap Of Faith has some solid form to his credit over these extended trips and could be the main threat.
