Sunderland and Romford provide the entertainment on Racing Post Greyhound TV this evening. Sunderland host a graded card while Romford serve up a real treat with all thirteen races on their card being open contests. Both meetings can be seen live tonight on Racing Post Greyhound TV, Sky Channel 212, or Freesat Channel 402. The show begins at 7.15pm and is on right through until 10.45pm. This free to air channel now shows greyhound racing three nights a week, Thursday to Saturday!

This Coral on TV Maiden Stayers Trophy Final is a bit of a mouthful but could well serve up one of the most competitive races of the evening. The bookies make last time out winner Slick Saleen their 7/4 market leader. Keith Allsop’s dog won well here on Monday clocking a time of 35.57s in the process to beat another of tonight’s field Joscar by half a length. A repeat of that run would see the orange jacket go very close but I just feel the odds are short enough. His main market rival is comes out of trap two, Sidelight. This bitch won her last two starts of course and distance and doesn’t have much to find on times to pose a serious threat to the favourite. Purely from a value perspective, I’m going to be backing Joscar coming out of trap three to turn the table on Slick Saleen. Odds of 5/1 are available with Ladbrokes and I think this greyhound is still open to a bit of improvement over this trip.
NB – Back Trap 3 Joscar @ 5/1
10:11pm Romford
A 400m contest here where personally I can only really see one winner. The in form Ernie Gaskin kennel send Glory Steam out in search of a hat trick and I’ll be disappointed if this greyhound can’t deliver at what look rather generous odds of 9/4 with William Hill. There is nothing else in the field that has shown anything like the level of consistency this greyhound has managed in recent weeks and he has actually taken four of his last five starts over course and distance. The main danger could well be Mark Wallis’ Aero prince. He’s been struggling slightly the last few months but has shown enough to suggest he can at least be competitive.
Nap – Back Trap 1 Glory Steam @ 9/4 with William Hill
