According to the Racing Post website, it looks like there is just the one meeting at Romford tonight on Racing Post Greyhound TV, Sky Channel 231, or Freesat Channel 402. The show gets under way at 7.15pm and runs right the way through till 10.45pm. This free to air channel now shows greyhound racing three nights a week, Thursday to Saturday! Although there is just the one meeting, it is an excellent open race card, with all 13 races being open events.
8:50pm Romford
A decent looking puppy event here, The Coral Romford Puppies is contested over 400m and there is £175 up for grabs for the winning greyhound. Trap four Guinness Dusty trained by Seamus Cahill is definitely one of the leading contenders. This dog won the Trafalgar Cup at Oxford last month and although a little disappointing at Monmore last time, has been running consistently well all year. The greyhound I like here is Be Real coming out of the one box. He finished third in the Ladbrokes Puppy Final last week behind Newinn Rocket and a repeat of that effort might well be enough, especially with his plum draw. The 7/4 on offer with Ladbrokes looks more than fair.
9:24pm Romford
A rematch here from the race run over course and distance from the 19th of March which saw Bubbly Ebony get the better of Hugo You Go by four and a half lengths. Hugo You Go was a strong favourite on that occasion but had no real excuses for his defeat by Paul Young’s dog. The Racing Post fancy the five dog to reverse the form tonight, but I can see no reason to desert Bubbly Ebony and even his run when finishing third to Aero Joker was better form than anything Hugo has shown in recent weeks. Won’t be a huge price, but at odds against, the two dog is worth a bet.
