Henlow and Monmore are the destinations for Thursday evening’s Racing Post Greyhound TV action. To watch tonight’s live dog racing, simply tune in on Sky Channel 231, or Freesat Channel 402. The show begins at 7.15pm, with the first live race going off at 7.25pm. The last event of the evening is the 10.26 from Monmore. Both cards include 12 races and there is some really top class action tonight with a total of 17 open races!
20:02 Monmore
An excellent looking open race here to be contested over a trip of 416m. Romford regular Fire Food Chilli has been put in as the 9/4 favourite with Ladbrokes and it’s a price I don’t see lasting too long to be honest unless the regular shrewdies are too busy with Cheltenham to notice of course! Jim Daly’s greyhound was slightly disappointing when missing the break at Romford last week but prior to that had been running at a very consistent level. He’s yet to race over this course and distance, his handler opting not to give the dog a trial but I can’t see it posing too many problems for him. The danger is likely to come from trap 2 who has been running over shorter trips but did win three races over course and distance in quick succession last summer. I just think the four dog has the class to win here at the first time of asking.
20:18 Monmore
This stayers event is to be contested over 630m and sees the Mark Wallis trained Aero Majestic try to win yet another race but the bookies have priced him up accordingly at even money. This ultra consistent dog has been in superb form in the last few months having won five races since the start of the year. The draw hasn’t been kind tonight however and I feel he may be worth opposing at prohibitive odds. The greyhound I like is the three dog, Ballymac William. He was turned over at short odds behind Boxie last time but make no mistake, this is a seriously talented greyhound and while he might not have the consistency of trap six, the 7/2 on offer with Betfred makes plenty of appeal tonight.
