There are two meetings tonight live on Racing Post Greyhound TV, Sky Channel 212, or Freesat Channel 402. The show gets under way at 7.15pm and runs right the way through till 10.45pm. This free to air channel now shows greyhound racing three nights a week, Thursday to Saturday! The pick of the action comes from Crayford where we have a total of four open races. There is also high class graded racing at Newcastle.

I’m a big fan of the 380m sprint trip at Crayford and this Crayford Bookmakers Sprint this evening should prove to be another cracking contest. One greyhound stands out here like a sore thumb having won her last five starts. The Julie Luckhurst trained Selkirk Souter has been in tremendous form in recent weeks and she looks to have solid claims again tonight. The draw is a slight concern due to their being no wide runners in the race but she has been drawn in five and six during her winning spell and the 11/10 on offer with Ladbrokes is a value play. The chief danger looks likely to come from Waspinajar in trap one. This greyhound has won his last two starts at Peterborough, but I’m going to stick with the Crayford specialist.

9:40pm Crayford
The Crayford Bookmakers Stayers Stakes is a 714m contest with £150 on offer to the winning connections. Mullbrook Proby has been put in as the 11/8 favourite with Betfred and has been generally quite consistent over these marathon trips at Crayford in recent weeks. I think this dog is likely to be suited by the drop back to 714m but his last couple of efforts in open company don’t inspire much confidence and I believe the value may lie elsewhere. The three dog Westmead Jules usually does her best work late on and I think those tactics could work to good effect tonight. She comes into the race relatively fresh and looks more than fair odds at 9/4 with Betfred.
