There are two meetings tonight live on Racing Post Greyhound TV, Sky Channel 212, or Freesat Channel 402. The show gets under way at 7.15pm and runs right the way through till 10.45pm. This free to air channel now shows greyhound racing three nights a week, Thursday to Saturday! The pick of the action comes from Crayford where we have eight open races to enjoy. There is also high class graded racing at Newcastle, who end the evening with three A1 events.

A trial for the Ladbrokes Golden Jacket here sees these six greyhounds compete over the staying trip of 714m. One runner that knows her way around here very well is the bitch from the Boosey kennel, Buglys Billie. The one dog was successful last time out here over the longer trip of 874m and is likely to be doing her best work in the latter stages of the race. Depending on how the track comes up in this weather, the races could well suit an out and out stayer such as Buglys. The class in the race definitely comes out of trap six as Peggys Style makes her Crayford debut. She had a trial here earlier in the month over 380m and is surprisingly available at odds of 9/4 with race sponsors Ladbrokes (just 6/4 elsewhere). She’s my Nap for this evening.

The bookies make this a wide open event with nothing much between all six runners in the market but I’m not so sure I agree with them. Paulines Pride was successful over this course and distance earlier this month beating one of tonight’s main rivals Westmead Armour comfortably by six and a half lengths. William Hill have priced Darren Whitton’s dog up at 7/2 and I rate this as a serious value play. The biggest danger for me could come from the four dog Mullbrook Proby who has show consistent form over this trip.
