There are two meetings tonight live on Racing Post Greyhound TV, Sky Channel 212, or Freesat Channel 402. The show gets under way at 7.15pm and runs right the way through till 10.45pm. This free to air channel now shows greyhound racing three nights a week, Thursday to Saturday! Both Crayford and Newcastle stage twelve races a piece, with six open contests in total.

The second heat of the J.B Riney MBE Boxing Day Marathon should be a very competitive contest indeed if the betting is anything to go by. The bookmakers have basically priced this up with co favourites of three with them struggling to split Pantone Ava, Powerfast Pigeon and Mullrook Proby. I’m personally struggling to see why the three dog Mullrook Proby has not been made favourite for tonight’s contest. Paul Tompsett’s greyhound definitely looks to have the most progressive profile of the three market leaders and seemed to relish the step up in trip going by his impressive performance here on the 10th of November. Betfair go 2/1 about Mullrook Proby and I’m making him my Nap of Saturday night.

A few unknown quantities in this race as far as the course and distance are concerned, but that’s why I’m very keen on the chances of trap three Elwick Quiz. Michael Walsh’s runner clocked a time of 40.89 here in October when finishing second to Ballyard Buddy and a repeat of that performance would likely be enough to win here. The danger will probably come on her outside from Mill Whiskers in trap five. He didn’t run a bad race when finishing third here over a shorter trip last time out and shouldn’t be far away.
