This week’s live greyhound racing action on RPGTV begins with tonight with two exciting looking meetings from Coventry and Romford. There are eleven races at Coventry while Romford stage twelve. Unfortunately, there is just the one open race this evening but plenty of high class graded action, particularly on the Romford card. All tonight’s racing can be seen live on Sky channel 212 or Freesat channel 401. The show begins at 7:15 with Julie Collier doing the honours alongside Phil Donaldson and Ian Meek. Here are our two best bets from tonight’s meetings.
9:15pm Coventry
An A1 contest here over the flat 485m and one the bookmakers have priced up as a wide open event. The six dog Hiding Escort won in fine fashion over course and distance last time out after being very well backed here on June 12th. Kevin Hutton also trains the orange jacket trap five and he also would have to go on the short list for this race and Hey Diego can definitely get out the traps well. The interesting runner for me is the two dog, Oneco Express. This runner from the Weatherall kennels is taking a significant step up in grade but he’s definitely the most unexposed runner in the line up and won by a full eight and a quarter lengths in A3 company here last time. He deserves to take his chance in this garde and at odds of 5/1 with bet365, Oneco Express is a value bet.
Back Trap 5 Oneco Express @ 5/1
10:11pm Romford
Another A1 event, the RGOA Members Trophy Race is run over a trip of 400m. Once again, it’s another tightly contested race with the bookies going 3/1 the field. The interesting runner for me here is the six dog, Steves Dream. A winner last time out in A1 company, he’s gradually moving up the ladder and could well improve once again. Ernie Gaskin’s runner does have a little to find with some of these on their best times, but I prefer to take the angle that this dog still has a bit in the tank. What sways me in his direction even more is the fact William Hill go a stand out price of 9/2 while he’s as short as 3/1 elsewhere. The main danger could well come on his inside from trap five Barts Wood who did it nicely here last week over this 400m trip.
Back Trap 6 Steves Dream @ 9/2 with William Hill
