The heats of the Keith Swain Manchester Puppy Cup were dominated by the favourites at Belle Vue last night.
Heat one saw Neil Black’s Killieford Fire score at odds of 4/7 in a time of 27.84sec. 6/1 chance Westmead Emily was 2 ½ lengths back in 2nd place.
The most impressive winner of the evening was Jumeirah Brett in the second heat. Julie Bateson’s runner made it two wins from two starts, beating Vatican Orkney by an incredible 9 ¼ lengths in a time of 27.78sec.
Pat Rosney’s Little Gaffer was the well supported winner of the third heat. The 4/5 favourite was crowded at the first bend but led from halfway and beat Azzurri Rocket by 2 ¾ lengths in a time of 28.19sec.
