It’s Coronation Cup semi final time tonight, with the RPGTV cameras showing all three races live from Romford. There is also a meeting this evening at Peterborough, with some decent looking graded action on offer. The show gets under way at 7:15pm, with a great line up of Darrell Williams and Jonathan Hobbs in the studio, while Julie Collier does the honours trackside. All the dog racing from both Peterborough and Romford can be viewed live on Sky channel 212 and Freesat channel 401. Here are our greyhound racing tips for Wednesday January 7th.

The first of three Coral Coronation Cup semi finals looks set to be a cracker. Mark Wallis’s Vanfrenchie has the best of the draw in trap one this evening, and it’s not hard to see why he has been put in as the 6/4 favourite with William Hill. This greyhound was victorious in an impressive time of 35.30 in the opening round of the competition, and a repeat of that performance would make the red jacket very hard to beat. The danger looks likely to come from the six dog, Droopys Bear who was also a first round winner, showing an excellent turn of foot late on to land the spoils. A better start for Dean Childs runner would see him victorious, but I just feel that Vanfrenchie is a more reliable proposition.

Adageo Bob got no luck in running in last week Coronation Cup first round, but still managed to make it through to tonight’s semis. To see Mark Wallis’ charge at odds against this evening makes the five dog the bet of the night for me. Adageo Bob usually thrives over this course and distance and should have just too much for Kevin Hutton’s Airport Captain. The one dog is also a very talented greyhound, and did gain a result over the selection here back in November, but I fancy Bob to take his revenge here this evening and give Mark Wallis a seriously strong hand come the final. Take the 5/4 on offer with Paddy Power.
