A double header live on RPGTV this evening, with Romford and Sunderland both hosting 13 race cards, which includes eight open contests at the Essex track. Tonight’s show gets under way at 7:15pm, and can be seen live on Sky channel 212 and Freesat channel 401. Here are our best bets for Friday 13th Feburary.
21:24 Romford
This romforddogs.com Standard is a 400m open race, and features a numbers of greyhounds with slightly mixed recent form. The betting is headed by the David Mullins trained Genesis Demester, a bitch who has been a great money spinner for connections over the past couple of years. At her best, Genesis would be too good for this mob, but she has been unable to find any level of consistency of late. Two starts back, she was victorious in decent style over course and distance in an A1 event, but two subsequent performances have been disappointing. I’m not sure I’d want to be a layer at bet365’s quote of 5/2, but those odds don’t make me want to back the jolly either. The bet here for me is the four dog, Ilewin Potter. Having performed with credit in his last couple of starts, Ilewin looks to be coming to the boil, and is more likely to give a true running than most of these in and out performers. Take the 4/1 on offer with William Hill.
Back Trap 4 Ilewin Potter at 4/1 with William Hill
22:40 Romford
The final race of the evening, and a contest which I feel is very much at the mercy of the the three dog, High Falcon. Having won three of her last four starts over course and distance, the form of this bitch looks head and shoulders above these rivals, and I’m shocked to see Betfred going as big as 6/4 about this one. Hills are 4/5, which was the price I expected to see across the board, and I for one will be taking the odds available at Betfred while they last because I don’t see the white jacket starting the race at anything like 6/4. Both the four Magical Emma, and the six Star Mirren Sky, do their best work at 575m, and it is difficult to see either troubling High Falcon over this 750m trip. Having won by almost nine lengths last time out, it’s difficult to pick holes in Phil Simmonds’ charge.
Back Trap 3 High Falcon at 6/4 with Betfred
