The usual Friday night double header from Romford and Sunderland on RPGTV this evening, with the show getting under way at 7:15pm. Both meetings feature a total of thirteen races, with twelve of those at Romford being open contests. You can watch all of this evening’s dog racing live on Sky channel 212 and Freesat channel 401. Here are our top greyhound racing tips for Friday, December 12th.

A really wide open contest as far as the bookies are concerned here, with 4/1 the field available. Although he may have a touch to find as far as times are concerned, I think the well travelled Sunday Rain could well land the spoils, having the benefit of wearing the striped jacket. Darren Whitton’s dog has been in good form recently, winning a couple of open races at Sittingbourne during November and also has a victory to his credit over this course and distance, when coming out of trap six on the 10th of October. The sole wide runner in the race, Sunday Rain can skip clear on the outside and go in at a rewarding price.

The Ernie Gaskin trained Dower Matt has been in impressive for in recent times, rattling off a hat-trick of wins over this 400m trip at Romford. This greyhound’s times have been ultra consistent and with 13/8 available at Ladbrokes, I can see now reason to not be with the two dog to make to four from four here. The danger would certainly be the one dog Evanta Fantasy who ran arguably a career best here last week. Whether she can repeat that is open to question however, and she could well need to better that performance to finish in front of the favourite tonight in any case.

While I very much respect the chances of favourite Blonde Razor here, I’m not sure I want to be taking such a short price about a greyhound who has arrives off the back of three successive defeats. Mark Wallis’ greyhound is extremely talented, but is also a bit quirky and the value play for me is the five dog Janoan. Fast becoming a specialist over this course and distance, Janoan ran a 35.31 when victorious here last month and a repeat of that could well be good enough tonight. Clearly for me the second best dog in the race, Janoan may well be able to take advantage of an out of sort Blonde Razor this evening, and the 9/2 on offer with Betfair looks massive to me.
