2017 Irish Greyhound Derby

The 2017 Irish Greyhound Derby is set to get underway in August, with the final taking place on Saturday September 23rd. Sponsored by bookmaker Boylesports, the Derby is arguably the most prestigious competition in the Irish calendar, and with a winner's purse of €125,000 up for grabs, it is seriously competitive. Irish Greyhound Derby

The Irish Greyhound Derby first took place at Shelbourne Park in 1932 and to this day is one of the most prestigious competitions in the greyhound racing calendar. Popularity of the Irish Greyhound Derby goes from strength to strength and since Paddy Power took over sponsorship of the competition in 2000 they have given the event some serious promotion and provided the Irish Greyhound Derby with lots of exposure and positive coverage in the media.
