Wimbledon host the first eight heats of the William Hill Derby second round, while Romford have their usual Friday night open race feast. There are a total of 13 races on each card and racing begins with the 7:25pm contest at Wimbledon. You can watch all 26 races live on Sky channel 212, or Freesat channel 401. RPGTV now show live greyhound racing every night from Wednesday through to Sunday. Stick with UK Greyhound Racing for the very best tips on all the meetings covered.

There are a number of short price favourites in tonight’s Derby heats, some who look poor value, but the greyhound I was very interested in when the draw was made was Sidaz Jack. I thought he might be a shade of odds on but Paddy Power go 11/8 and I feel that is a price that’s more than fair. He put up a creditable if unspectacular performance in the first round but Charlie Lister’s runner has the best of the draw in trap one tonight and I think he will take all the beating. The chief danger could well be the black jacket Airlie Impact who was a little unlucky in running last time. Paul Young’s greyhound can make up the forecast.

The Doug Tyler Summer Cup Final is an open race contest over the flat 575m with £750 on offer to the winning greyhound. The bookies have put in the one dog, Droopys Xavier as their favourite at a best early price of 7/4. He was just touched off by Westmead Diva here last week but came out the race with plenty of credit. For me, the value in the race is the sole wide runner, Balmi Blue in the striped jacket. He absolutely hosed up here last week beating another of tonight’s rivals Head Iton Tom by five and three quarter lengths. He should avoid any trouble and at odds of 3/1, is definitely the play for me against the favourite.
