Racing Post Greyhound TV Tips Romford and Sunderland 2nd March

To watch live dog racing tonight in the comfort of your own home, simply tune into Racing Post Greyhound TV on Sky Channel 231, or Freesat Channel 402. It all begins at 7.15pm and runs right the way through till 10.45pm. The best part is that it’s a completely free to air channel! Tonight’s greyhound racing comes from both Romford and Sunderland. The 13 races at Romford tonight are all opens and there is some high class action at the London track. Sunderland is a graded card sponsored by William Hill, which also features 13 races.

These two bitches seem to face off every week here at Romford and it’s time for round four between Fancy Socks and Sequential. The Roy Griffin trained Fancy Socks has come off best in the three previous encounters over the past few weeks but is still available at even money with Ladbrokes tonight. While Sequential has only been beaten by less than two lengths on each of those occasions, Fancy Socks has the plum draw tonight coming out of trap one and it’s difficult to see David Pruhs runner should turn round the form tonight. Ladbrokes are the only firm to go evens and I think that’s a price worth taking.

Another dog that has done me a favour in recent weeks is the Jim Reynolds trained Mercury Freddie. This dog has really come into his own since being stepped up in trip and has won his last two contests over 750m with ease. The danger obviously comes from trap one in the form of Elizabeth McNair’s runner Express Trend. This bitch was favourite for the Golden Jacket but crashed out of that competition at the semi final stage and was also well beaten on Tuesday night at Wimbledon, albeit in a hot race. I feel like Mercury Freddie still has a bit more to come in terms of improvement and is the value play against the favourite here at 7/2 with Betfred.
