Racing Post Greyhound TV Tips Romford and Sunderland 17th February

Romford and Sunderland are the venues for tonight’s greyhound racing action on Racing Post Greyhound TV. If you fancy watching tonight’s dog racing, simply tune in on Sky Channel 231, or Freesat Channel 402. The action gets under way at 7.15pm and the channel shows live greyhound racing right the way through to 10.45pm. There are 13 races on each of tonight’s cards, with Romford staging all Opens while all the races at Sunderland are graded affairs.

9.06 Romford
This event looks a match between the two market leaders Sequential and Fancy Socks. The bookies are divided over them with trap 4 Sequential 11/8 favourite with Hills, while Fancy Socks is on offer with the same firm at 7/4. William Hill go 11/8 Fancy Socks and 6/4 Sequential. While their previous two meetings have been close encounters, the fact is that Fancy Socks has got the better of her rival on both of those occasions and arguably has the better of the draw tonight. She looked impressive when beating Sequential here last week by a length and three quarters and I fancy more of the same from Socks!

10.40 Romford
An interesting race here with the Tony Collet trained Black Lamora seemingly well fancied put in at even money with Ladbrokes. While the step up in trip to this extreme distance should suit, I think Evs is short enough and there may have been an over reaction to her win at Hove last time. I’m going to take the favourite on with the six dog, Mercury Freddie. Jim Reynolds dog ran very well over this course and distance last week when finishing second to Ballintine Molly. Although the draw is not ideal, it is only the two principles in the race who are actually middle runners and are drawn in five and six. Looks a value bet at around the 3/1 mark

Nap – Fancy Socks 9.06 Romford @ 7/4 with William Hill

NB – Mercury Freddie 10.40 Romford @ 3/1 with William Hill
