There are two meetings tonight live on Racing Post Greyhound TV, Sky Channel 212, or Freesat Channel 402. The show gets under way at 7.15pm and runs right the way through till 10.45pm. This free to air channel now shows greyhound racing three nights a week, Thursday to Saturday! Romford stages what is largely an Open race card, while there is graded action from Sunderland.

The bookies have priced this race up nice and early and have put in Diesel Sammy and Oscars Cobra as the joint 5/2 favourites. Both the one and the five dog have been there or thereabouts in recent starts, but neither greyhound appeals to me as a bet this evening. I think the value lies with Trap 4, Nans Smasher. The Ernie Gaskin trained runner ran a trial over course and distance in October that puts him well in the mix as far as the leading contenders for this race is concerned. This is somewhat of a speculative wager, but there is no way this greyhound is an 8/1 shot, and that is the price Hills have put him in at.

This 400m open race has a number of in form dogs in the line up, but I strongly fancy the six dog to maintain excellent recent record. Jim Reynold’s bitch was particularly impressive here on Monday, and she has the plum draw in trap six tonight. Kennel mate Borna Karma has the potential to pose problems for my selection at the first bend, but I still think the 6/4 available at Betfair makes this consistent bitch Nap material. The one dog Farkland Tyson looks the obvious danger having also won here on Monday but I think Courts Ad Nina will be too good tonight.
