I suppose it had to happen in the end but it was our first losing night since we began providing tips here at UK Greyhound Racing last night. Unfortunately, my Nap Jamaican Man was a non runner so we were relying on Farloe Iceman to do the business. I was right about taking the early even money as the dog returned 4/6f but he never recovered from being bumped early on and ran a very disappointing race back in 5th place. Fortunately, we are still well in front overall and lets just get back to winning ways tonight!
If you want to watch the live dog racing tonight in the comfort of your own home, just tune into Racing Post Greyhound TV on Sky Channel 231, or Freesat Channel 402. The coverage starts at 7.15pm and runs right the way through till 10.45pm and the best part is, it’s completely free! Tonight’s racing comes from Romford and Sunderland. All of the 13 races at Romford tonight are Opens and it looks like a really special card. Up at Sunderland, we have a graded card sponsored by William Hill, with 13 races in total.
I’ll be concentrating my efforts on Romford as that’s where we have all the top class action and there are two races tonight which I am not only really looking forward to watching, but that have also presented a couple of excellent looking betting opportunities.
8.02 Romford
The Coral Romford Standard is an Open race to be contested over 400m. Trap 1 Devotion Jac has been put in as the 7/4 favourite with William Hill. This bitch is certain to be there or thereabouts but I’m keen to take her on with David Mullins trained Melodys Express. He was a little disappointing at Henlow during the week but back on home turf, I think he’ll be hard to beat. The early price of 3/1 with bet365 is big when you consider he’s only 9/4 elsewhere.
10.26 Romford
Unless they know something I don’t, I think Ladbrokes have made a serious mistake here with the price of the five dog. Munster Jack can be backed at 7/4 with Ladbrokes for this 10.26 contest and when you consider the ease with which he beat the highly rated Curragh Kewell here last time, you’d have to be taking that sort of price about Mark Wallis’ runner this evening. Trap 6 the danger for me but I expect Munster to have the beating of that rival.
