Racing Post Greyhound TV Tips Henlow and Hove 17th January 2013

Thursday evening’s Racing Post Greyhound TV action comes from Hove and Henlow. To watch tonight’s live dog racing, simply tune in on Sky Channel 212, or Freesat Channel 402. The show begins at 7.15pm, with the first live race going off at 7.31pm. There are a total of 14 open races over the two meetings, but Henlow have a slightly reduced card this evening with just eight races. The last race of the night is a 10.26pm and it might be the last racing we see for a few days if the weather forecasts are to be believed!

An interesting looking open contest here over the 515m trip, the Coral Hove Ladies is a bitches event worth £175. The betting is headed by the six dog, Jaytee Cuba at a stand out price of 15/8 with Paddy Power. Paul Young’s bitch was successful over course and distance last time out and being the only wide runner in the race this evening, looks to hold very strong claims of making it a hat track of wins here. Her chief rival should be the red jacket, Forest Dot. While trap one does have some decent form to her name, tonight represents a step up in trip and I just feel that at the prices, the six dog is an excellent bet here.

20:58 Henlow
A wide open contest as far as the bookies are concerned here with the first five in the betting having very little between them. The only one that the odds compilers don’t fancy is Daddys Round from the four box and I tend to agree with them. Coming out of trap 2, the only bitch in the race Story Time may well be able to get the better of her male counterparts here. She’s had a nice little break since under performing slightly at Peterborough in December, with just a trial round here last week to blow any cobwebs away. This greyhound seems to win more races than she loses and her consistency makes the 3/1 on offer with Ladbrokes seem like a value play.
