Crayford and Wimbledon are the destinations for tonight’s Racing Post Greyhound TV action. There are a few good looking open races at Crayford, while Wimbledon conclude their second round Derby heats. There are a total of 13 races on the Wimbledon card and 12 at Crayford with the 7:25pm at Wimbledon opening proceedings. You can watch all 25 races live on Sky channel 212, or Freesat channel 401. Heat 12 of the 2nd round of this year’s Greyhound Derby sees Irish hopeful Cabra Buck heading the market at a best price of 6/4. This greyhound was turned over at fairly short odds here last weekend and although he’s undoubtedly a talented animal, I think Cabra Buck is one favourite worth opposing tonight. The Chris Mosdall trained Smiler Jack looks like a value play to me. Available at Betfred, the one dog is more than capable of causing an upset. Admittedly, this track might not play to his strengths, but a repeat of his performance in the first round could well be good enough to win this contest.

9:40pm Crayford
The bet of the evening for me goes in this Crayford Bookmakers Stayers Stakes over the marathon 714m trip. Harlow raider Buglys Billie is likely to be popular from trap one and the bookmakers are taking no chances putting the red jacket in as a 2/1 chance. She ran a very good trial here last week and although getting on in years, a repeat of that would see the runner from the Boosey kennel go close. The greyhound I am interested in here is the three dog, Pony Bride. Steve Gammon’s runner was a little disappointing last time but that was over an inadequate trip and she’s generally very consistent over this distance. Pony Bride can pounce late and land the spoils. Take the 9/4.
