There are two meetings tonight live on Racing Post Greyhound TV, Sky Channel 212, or Freesat Channel 402. The show gets under way at 7.15pm and runs right the way through till 10.45pm. This free to air channel now shows greyhound racing three nights a week, Thursday to Saturday! There are no open races tonight unfortunately but we do have some high class graded action to enjoy this Saturday evening. There are a couple of runners that take our eye and hopefully we can get back amongst the winners at Crayford and Newcastle.
8:18pm Crayford
My local track and it’s certainly had it’s fair share of rain over the last 24 hours. This event is an A2 contest over the 380m trip that sees the one dog Gerards Rebel coming down in grade having been competing in open races in his last four starts. He hasn’t fared particularly well in that sphere but his runs here on 24th November and 1st December would indicate he isn’t without a chance in this race. The greyhound I like here is the blue jacket, last time out winner Unity. Barry O’Sullivan’s runner was impressive when successful in this grade last time and definitely looks like a dog on the upgrade. Antying around the 7/4, 2/1 mark would be fair.

Another A2 contest here, the William Hill Stakes is run over a trip of 480m and there is £147 on offer to the winning greyhound. Favourite on the tissue at odds of 5/2 is the five dog, Bickerton Nile. This greyhound was successful in A3 grade this past Wednesday and should take the step up in class in his stride. At slightly bigger odds, I prefer the chances of trap 3, Blakes Cash. This dog was very well back to land the spoils earlier this week but could only finish second after finding a bit of trouble in running. Blakes Cash has shown in his last two starts that’s he’s ready to go in and I think tonight’s the night.
