A great night of action in store this evening live on Sky Sports 3 from 7:30pm. Both the finals of the ECC Timber Laurels as well as the Oaks take place at the Manchester track and hot favourite Casheen Maureen will be bidding to give trainer Mark Wallis yet another prestigious prize as she bid for glory in the Oaks at 9:19pm. This bitch has been head and shoulders above her rivals throughout the competition and should be very tough to beat coming out of trap five this evening. Maureen’s chief danger could well be kennel mate Evanta Evita wearing the black jacket on her inside, but recent numbers suggest she would need to find significant improvement to trouble the jolly. For forecast purposes, I think Jaytee Osprey can take second spot from the one box. Although she was beaten a head by Evita in the semi finals, Paul Young’s runner can reverse the form now she’s back in her favoured red jacket. Paddy Power go a stand out 8/13 about Cahseen Maureen, but for those who don’t like betting odds on, I’m going to suggest a 5 to beat 1 forecast which should pay handsomely.

Elsewhere on this cracking card, Mcgiolla looks at little over priced to me in the first live race of the evening, the 19:34. This greyhound looks to have been crying out for a step up in trip and can make the best of his way home from the inside draw. Mcgiolla’s defeat of Take The Crown back in September reads very well, and if this new trip does the trick, 3/1 is going to look very big indeed.

The Laurels final is one of the most interesting races of the season on paper and it’s definitely worth taking on the front two in the market here at such short odds. While Pinpoint Maxi and Southern Mesut’s very best form would be the best on offer here, neither has really sparkled in the build up to this final and the four dog Bubbly Rocket has to be the value play here at 10/1 with William Hill. Paul Young’s greyhound comes into the final having won both his opening round and semi final in impressive fashion and although has a bit to find as far as times are concerned, I fancy him to run a big race once again.
