This evening’s live greyhound racing can bee seen on Sky Sports 2 from 7:30pm, with the final of the £8000 British Breeders Stakes at Nottingham taking centre stage. Liz McNair’s King Dec comes into the race as the strong favourite following three impressive displays in succession over the course and distance. King Dec has a plum draw in trap one tonight and should make a bold bid to land the prize for favourite backers. Assuming a trouble free race, the only realistic danger to the chances of the red jacket should come from Golden Apple on his inside. Charlie Lister’s bitch ran an excellent 29.72 in the semi finals of this competition last week and a repeat of that would likely see her win this prestigious event. However, that was the first time we had seen Golden Apple really blast out the traps and whether she can do it again is open to question. The percentage call is to go with the McNair runner here, and the 6/4 available with Betfair doesn’t look like bad value in what should effectively be a match with the two dog.

The first race of the evening covered by Sky looks to be a tricky puzzle to solve, but from a value perspective, I can’t let the Mark Wallis trained Sidaz Dippy go unbacked. While this greyhound did flop quite badly in the Kent St Leger final, her handler has since given her a brief break, with just a trial at Yarmouth this past Saturday. Betfair go 4/1 about Sidaz here, and that price seems very generous to me. I respect the chances of Moss Lane Sue in six, but while she has been in great form at Monmore, this bitch was beaten on her only previous start here at odds on and might well be worth taking on at a short price.

Charlie Lister’s Sidaz Jack did not get the best of runs in the Henlow Derby semi final last time out, but can make amends at Nottingham tonight. The 2013 Derby winner is a seriously talented individual and with the best of the draw here in trap one, should be able to see off likely dangers Viking Jack and Coolemore Joe. Paddy Power only go even money about Sidaz Jack but Coral are currently offering a huge looking 7/4.
