One of the most exciting things to happen in greyhound racing in recent times is the opening of Towcester as a greyhound track, and tonight, Sky Sports will cover racing from the new venue for the very first time. This evening show gets under way at 7:30pm on Sky Sports 3 and features ten open races, as well as two Towcester v Ireland challenge events. Towcester offer free admission to all their greyhound racing meetings, and it looks set to become one of the premier dog racing tracks in the UK. The bookies have been brave tonight and there are prices on offer for all the live Sky races, the first of which is off at 7:34pm. Here are our best greyhound racing tips for this superb live Sky dogs meeting from Towcester.

An open contest run over a 480m trip, this William Hill sponsored event looks like one of the more competitive races on the card. The bookies are struggling to split Airfield Paudie and Ibiza Rocks here, with both dogs available at the 7/2 mark. Of the pair, I think Ibiza Rocks in the red jacket would be the most likely winner, with Kevin Hutton’s greyhounds recent form at Romford looking particularly solid. While I fancy the red jacket to go well, I’m going to take a punt on Save The Don being a lot more capable than he showed at Belle Vue last time out. This Irish raider had some fairly smart form on the other side of the water and completed a decent trial at Belle Vue before disappointing in the heats of the Laurels. Sky Bet and Coral go 5/1 about the four dog, and at those kind of odds, I’m definitely a player.

Having made a great start here at Towcester last weekend, I fancy Jim Daly’s Touch Tackle to land back to back successes over course and distance. The Sittingbourne regular has an excellent win strike rate and was impressive when scoring here on 6th December in a time of 41.76. There are a couple of other talented greyhounds in this field but I’m happy to take the 13/8 on offer with Betfred about the three dog here this evening, and Touch Tackle should be able to getter the better of main danger Droopys Oddysey with the advantage of a run at the track under his belt.
