Live Sky Dogs Henlow Puppy Derby Tips 7th February

The Primus Telecom Puppy Derby Final takes place at Henlow on Tuesday night and you can watch all the action live on Sky Sports 3. It all kicks off at 7.30pm and Sky are broadcasting eight live open races from the Bedfordshire track. The big race of the night is obviously the Puppy Derby Final which is scheduled to go off at 9.45pm, but there are also some other excellent looking contests on the Henlow card.

Coolavany Bert is the very short priced 1/4 favourite for the £10,000 Puppy Derby prize following his superb semi final performance where he won by a full five and a half lengths in a time of 27.16s. Kelly Findlay has a great chance of claiming another big prize here but as a punting proposition, I can’t see many people rushing in to take this kind of price.

For me, the value in the race now lies with the Mark Wallis trained Benkaat Blue. On offer at 10/1 with William Hill, this dog trapped really well to beat Fifis Legend by a short head in their semi final. If Fifis Legend and Coolavany Bert get in each others way early on, Benkaat Blue could well be the one to benefit and any runner Mark Wallis send out in a big final must be respected. Simply from a value perspective, I’d have a small win bet on the six dog.

Elsewhere on the card, I’m really keen on the chances of Yahoo Jamie in the 8.15. He was slightly disappointing last time at Nottingham but found a bit of trouble early on and he can get back to winning ways with the plum draw in trap one. The six dog Blackrose Boss looks the likely danger but I think Yahoo Jamie is the best dog in the race.

Another Charlie Lister runner takes my eye in the next race on the card. Being the only wide runner in the line up, Delwood Roko could well have the race run to suit and he beat Westmead Shaw convincingly when the pair last met. That dog is odds on here and I just feel the 11/4 on the six dog with William Hill is the value play.
