Henlow and Hove provide the entertainment for RGPTV punters this Thursday evening, with the south coast track serving up eight open races. All the action can be seen live on Sky channel 212, Freesat channel 401. Here are our best dog racing bets for Thursday, October 23rd.
19:46 Hove
While it doesn’t take a genius to select Droopys Norris in this second race on the Hove card, I was expecting Dean Childs’ greyhound to be a shorter price than the 10/11 on offer with Betfair. Other firms have put the two dog in at 8/11 off the back of his very impressive five length victory at Sittingbourne last time out, and that was the second demolition job in a row for this young dog. Although I respect the chances of Jaytee Lighting in the red jacket, he makes the market for Droopys and I’ll be disappointed to see this one beat tonight.
Back Trap 2 Droopys Norris at 10/11 with Betfair
20:18 Hove
A competitive looking race on paper here, with the bookies going 3/1 co-favourites of three in the early betting. Although Cheers Tony was beaten a neck by Whileyouwait over this course and distance one week ago, I feel there is a case to be made for backing the six dog to reverse that form this evening. Cheers Tony went into that contest as the 4/6f but Kevin Hutton’s runner didn’t get away quite as well as he is capable of. The fact Cheers Tony is available at 3/1 here makes him difficult to turn down. I’ll be very interested to see how Hutton’s other runner Helenas Sailor gets on coming out of trap five. He’s arguably the most talented greyhound in the field, but may just need this run following some time out.
