Henlow and Hove take centre stage this evening, as RPGTV show a total of 22 races tonight, with 10 from Henlow and 12 from Hove. The early part of the Hove card includes a few open race events, and that’s where we’ll be concentrating our efforts. Thursday night’s show gets under way at 7:15pm, and can be seen live on Sky channel 212 and Freesat channel 401. Here are our best bets for Thursday 12th February.

This 515m open race contest looks like a match between top and bottom, and I fancy Jet Stream Smurf in the striped jacket to come out on top. The Kevin Hutton trained Jolly Redeye must be respected, the one dog arriving here off the back of some two excellent victories at Sittingbourne, including when lowering the colours of Soviet Kenny last time. That form looks decent, and I expect this greyhound to run well again. That being said, Jet Stream Smurf looks to have the best of the draw being the only wide runner in the race, and can take full advantage. While he was beaten by his kennel mate here back in December, I’m confident he can reverse that form this evening.

Just the five runners here for 475m event with trap three vacant, but the bookies make it one of the most competitive races on the card. The two dog Farley Moon heads the betting here, and this course and distance specialist certainly knows the time of day. The blue jacket has won two of his last three starts, but was beaten by the one dog Bonamassa Rocks last time out. Those greyhounds appear to be very closely matched, and I’m going to take the wide runner Your Decision to chin the pair of them. While he will need a bit of luck in running with the four and the five both wanting a wide berth also, I think Your Decision will enjoy the return to 475m tonight and looks a value price at odds of 7/2 with Betfair.
