Unusually for a Sunday night, the Racing Post Greyhound TV cameras will be covering two meetings. In addition to the usual fare at Henlow, ten races will also be shown live from Doncaster, which encompasses the BAGS/SIS Track Championship. There is also some excellent racing at Henlow this evening, the highlight of which being the three semi finals of the £10,000 RPGTV Derby. Presented by Darrell Williams, the show will get under way at 6:15pm, and can be seen lie on Sky channel 212 and Freesat channel 401. Here are our greyhound racing tips for Sunday October 19th.

One of my favourite dogs in training runs again this evening, but this is not a sentimental selection. The Charlie Lister trained Sidaz Jack put a disappointing defeat behind him when victorious by a full five lengths in the first round of this competition last Sunday, and I fancy the two dog to come up with a repeat showing tonight. Sidaz flew out the traps in heat one last week, and should get to the first bend in front of the one dog Ilewin Allot. If he manages that, I can’t seen the favourite getting beaten. Six would be the danger for me, but Mark Wallis’ dog might not enjoy being on the outside.

This third semi final does look like a tricky contest to solve, but I feel that it’s worth taking on the front two in the market with the Liz McNair trained Coolemore Joe. He didn’t get the best of runs behind Sidaz Jack last week, but looking further back at Coolemore Joe’s form, he did get the better of one of tonight’s key rivals Rio Quattro on September 3rd at Yarmouth. This greyhound is still very inexperienced but long term, could well prove a better greyhound than both the Southern Mesut and Rio Quattro. I’d ignore the race last month in the East Anglian Derby semi final where Coolemore Joe got into plenty of trouble behind Southern Mesut. I’m willing to take the chance that Liz Mcnair’s dog will show more maturity here and the 7/2 on offer with William Hill is definitely the value play.
