Romford and Sunderland are the two venues that will be delivering all of tonight’s live RPGTV action, with 13 races at each track for greyhound punters to enjoy. All this Friday evening’s action can be seen live on Sky channel 212 and Freesat channel 401. With a total of ten open contests, Romford host the pick of tonight’s dog racing, and that’s where our efforts will be concentrated. Here are our best bets for Friday January 9th.

Although she was beaten by Paul Young’s Millwards Katy last time out, I fancy the orange jacket of Aayamzaone to finish in front here this Friday night. Mark Wallis’ bitch has previously beaten Millwards with ease, and I think she can prove that last week’s defeat was just a one off, and resume winning ways. While she does have another wide runner in the shape of Marmalady on her outside, Aayamzaone should get to the first bend in front of that rival, and can make the outside berth her own. Millwards Katy really cracked out of the boxes here last week, but whether she can show quite the same level of form tonight is open to question, and the 7/4 on offer with William Hill about the five is more than big enough for me to get involved.

The penultimate race of the evening, and one where I feel there is a bit of value on offer in the form of the Mark Wallis trained Jimmy Nailed On. Currently available at a best price of 4/1 with Betfair, this greyhound hasn’t been seen at his best since back in November, but I’m expecting his to show some improvement this evening. Following a couple of average runs at Hove, Jimmy Nailed On was given a few weeks off the track, and gave a satisfactory comeback ran over course and distance last week when beaten three lengths. That effort should have blown any cobwebs away, and I fancy the five dog to return to winning ways. The danger will obviously come from Boom Boom Danni who arrives off the back of a decent performance here last week. I just feel that the Wallis runner is the bet in this contest at the odds on offer.
