It’s the usual Friday fare on RPGTV this evening, with Romford and Sunderland the destination for the Racing Post cameras. There are two thirteen race cards tonight, including a total of ten open races at Romford and there should be decent punting opportunities aplenty over the two cards. We were two from two on Thursday, with winners at 10/11 and 3/1, so lets see if we can continue in that vein. Here are our best bets for Friday October 24th.

Bishops Wood has been running well here over the last few weeks and is generally a consistent sort when seen over the course and distance. That being said, I think Ernie Gaskin’s dog will have it all to do this evening up against Paul Young’s Bubbly Rocket. The one dog ran well on his reappearance behind the in form Mikes Machine last week and looks a good price to secure a first win since June. Bubbly has the best of the draw in trap one and can hopefully lead from pillar to post. Having been out since picking up an injury in the Sunderland Classic final in the summer and could well be set for a successful winter campaign.

There is no doubting the ability of 6/4 favourite here Lough Messi. Maxine Locke’s greyhound has won three of his last four starts over course and distance, and his numbers really add up. With some firms going as short as 11/10, I do feel as though the price on offer with bet365 is one well worth taking. My slight concern stems from the recent runs of the greyhound coming out of trap one, Mikes Machine. Ernie Gaskin’s bitch has won her last two races here in impressive fashion, with 24.07 and 24.08 being clocked. I think Lough Messi will win here, but I will be saving my stake on the one dog, who is a 5/1 chance with Ladbrokes. I know some punters would not consider playing this way, but I don’t really see any other danger’s to the favourite and feel that the small saver is worthwhile.
