The Greyhound Grand National is run over 460m over hurdles at Wimbledon Greyhound Stadium in April each year. The Grand National is currently sponsored by bookmaker Stan James. The race was originally staged at White City from 1928 before moving to Hall Green in 1985. The Grand National has been run at Wimbledon since 1999. There was a running in 1927 but the event was called the Champion Hurdle Race. The first official running of the Greyhound Grand National was in 1928 and was won by Cormorant.
