As announced in early 2013, a deal has been reach to broadcast greyhound racing on Sky Sports once again this year. The future of the sport on this important platform had looked in doubt, but thankfully the situation has now been positively resolved.
The Live Sky Dogs show will run from 7.30pm to 9.30pm, and the feature race will be shown at 9.15pm to allow coverage to also be screened in betting shops.
The action gets under way on Tuesday March 19th with the first meeting taking place at Wimbledon. It will be a meeting packed with quality as the card includes the Racing Post Juvenile, as well as the Springbok final.
The Scottish Derby is no longer part of the Sky schedule, but the English equivalent is definitely being broadcast, which is a massive positive for greyhound racing. The TV Trophy has been postponed until later in the 2013, the Gymcrack final from Kinsley is on Wednesday April 17, and Swindon’s Arc will be shown on May Day, Wednesday May 1.
The provisional list of fixtures is as follows;
Tuesday March 19 Wimbledon, Racing Post Juvenile, Springbok final
