Scurry Gold Cup
The Scurry Gold Cup is a greyhound racing competition held at Perry Barr greyhound stadium in May each year. It’s run over a trip of 275m. The Scurry Gold Cup was previously held at Catford from 1987 until it’s closure in 2002, Slough from 1974 to 1984 and Clapton from 1928 until 1973. Perry Barr have played hosts since 2005.
The Scurry Gold Cup has had a number of different sponsors. Stan James were the sponsors in 2008 but chose not to renew their involvement in the race. Betfair were the sponsors prior to that. Belle Vue have really struggled to find a sponsor in recent times and the event was delayed until November in 2010 until Showsec Security took on the competition.
