Harold’s Cross to be Sold

The Irish Greyhound Board yesterday confirmed that historic greyhound track Harold's Cross is to be sold following recommendations that were made in the Indecon report. Whilst appearing before Ireland's committee on Agriculture, Food and the Marine, the IGB gave their formal response to the report which included plans for asset disposals, including the sale of this dog track. Belle Vue based greyhound trainer Ian Aylward had a night to remember this past Friday evening, as he managed to secure both the Scurry Cup as well as the Pat McCombe Memorial Invitational. The evening got off to a successful start for Ian as 11/8 favourite Baliff Turbo pinned out of trap two in the 8:55pm to land the £500 purse in the Pat McCombe. The 2014 Yorkshire St Leger came to an exciting conclusion last night as the Dean Childs trained Millwards Teddy landed the £8,000 prize in impressive fashion. In the highlight of Doncaster's live Sky card, the favourite got a great start, but did have Baliff Turbo for company during the early part of the race.
